The Ateneo De Manila University.
The Ateneo De Manila University was established by the Jesuit during the year 1859, soon they will be celebrating their 150th birthday. Ateneo De Manila University is located in Katipunan next to Miriam college. It was originally located in Manila but it became divided during WWII. So they moved to Katipunan not long after. They have other branches located in Makati, Davao and Baguio. Ateneo was an all boys school for the longest time, only recently did they let women study there for college. But the Grade school all they way up until high school still remain to be an all boys school, but that only applies to the Loyola branches. The branches in Davao and Baguio are Co - ed from high school onwards. Every year students from 4th year high school and up wait for the ACET, also known as the Ateneo College entrance test, which was said to be the hardest college entrance test in the Philippines.
The Ateneo De Manila university is also very well known for the students they have produced and the varsities that they have nurtured. for the past two (2) years they have dominated the College Male basketball team, with their participation in the UAAP, they are currently still the team to beat. They will soon be going up against FEU in hopes for a "THREE-PEAT" championship, that only three (3) universities in the Philippines have achieved. They are also well known for thier high school basketball team which have won repeatably these past few years. They are also known for their campus and most importantly their educational standards, which is why Ateneo is at the top of it's game like the the other schools in Quezon city.
