Camp Crame is the National Headquarters of the Philippine National Police. Camp Crame is across the street from Camp Aguinaldo, the national headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. It was named after the first Filipino brigadier general of the Philippine Contabulary, Rafael Crame. Camp Crame was used as the headquarters  of the Philippine Constabulary which was then considered as a part of the AFP. Today, it serves a a headquarters of the PNP being separated from the AFP in 1991.

The implementation of the Martial Law last September 21 1972, until now is a haunting memory to us, Filipinos. Being under the rule of a dictator, Ferdinand Marcos, who deprived the Filipinos of their basic rights as a citizen of the Philippines. Some were arrested and weapons were confiscated. The Philippine National Police were controlled by Ferdinand Marcos. Despite their desire to help their fellow countrymen, they had no choice but to follow the rules implemented by the said dictator. They were usually sent out to arrest people including famous personalities. 

Some of the retired generals who joined the People Power Revolution and served The Cory Aquino administration are Lt. Gen Voltaire Gazmin, Lt. Gen. Raul Urgello, Jaime Gopilan, Lt. Gen Eduardo Batenga, Lt. Gen. Romeo Dominguez, former PNP director-general Recaredo Sarmiento, Police Supt. Francisco Zubia.
