People Power Monument
Recalling one event of the Philippines proud history, The People Power Revolution or mostly called as the Edsa Revolution which happened in 1986 to battle against the dictatorship and corrupt governance of the late former president, Ferdinand Marcos. It was a series of peaceful and non-violent street demonstrations which signified the country's stepping stone to restoring democracy. 

The People Power Revolution took place in EDSA or Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue in Quezon City and involved around 2,000,000 filipinos including the military, several known personalities and religious figures such as Cardinal Jaime Sin. It became a remarkable event in the world for it turned out to be an inspiration for a peaceful battle to oust dictatorship in Eastern Europe. And with the successful efforts of the Filipinos, Ferdinand Marcos conceded to Corazon Aquino as the President of the Philippines.

As shown in the picture above, The People Power Monument was sculptured by Eduardo Castrillo. It commemorate the 1986 People Power Revolution. The monument marks the spot where the brave Filipinos united as one to overthrow the authoritarian rule of Ferdinand Marcos. 

The video located on the right side is taken during the lighting up of the 15-year old monument during the eve of the 24the anniversary of the EDSA Revolution. Since then, the people power monument joined the ranks of iconic landmarks around the world.
